Muon Detector Simulations and LDF Parametrisation - a prerequisite for composition studies and hadronic interaction tests(pdf)

We consider a hybrid array of water Cherenkov detectors and muon counters used in combination with a fluorescence detector to measure the cosmic ray primary mass composition at energies about 1 EeV. This talk will focus on the layout of our detector arrays and the simulations done to study the theoretical performance of such a hybrid detector. Furthermore we will demonstrate the steps taken to find a parametrisation for the Muon LDF (Lateral Distribution Function) of our muon counters.
